Late Chief Victor Akor, the Udo 1 of Umuojinnaka Ubomiri and his beloved spouse Late Lolo Lucinda Akor exhibited high virtues of Love and Kindness to neighbours during their lifetime and project the same kindness beyond the finite. A certain amount is budgeted each Academic year to help eligible students defray some cost in their education pursuit. Money will be disbursed to the eligible students on need assessment. The Education Accessory Aide will help in procuring books, school uniforms, transportations, tuition, and pocket money.

GRANT CATEGORIES

Need-based

Need-based grants are issued to students exhibiting the greatest levels of financial hardship in paying for education.

Merit-based

Merit-based grants are tied to performance-like good grades and other personal achievements.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Quantity of Grant

The quantity of Grants for each school year is limited to the first 40 qualified Grant Request forms received and approved by the Foundation.  Grant Requests are accepted by the Foundation between December 1st and January 31st of each school year.

Request Form

The Grant Request Form, provided on this website, must be completed, and submitted to the Foundation committee and accepts the responsibility to abide by these Guidelines and conditions of the Grant.

Amount

The Grant amount will be decided each year with a limit of one Grant per school year.  Grant cheques are made payable to the Grantee and mailed to the attention of the Grantee or Direct Deposit to the Grantee’s account number provided in the application form.

Disbursement

The Foundation will notify the Grantee via email or text message if/when the Grant Request has been accepted.  Grant payment is disbursed within 21 days thereafter.

Selection Criteria

Screening using standardized aptitude test. The successful candidate’s application will be revaluated, and award granted.

Award Protocol

Disbursement will be done electronically in form of direct deposit to the provided account number. This will be done in the month of March every year.

Application Deadline

Anytime between December 1st and January 31st during the eligible school year.

An application form is available for each category. Please fill out the form as detailed as possible. Your information is confidential and will only be used in evaluating your eligibility for education accessory aide.

STUDENT CATEGORIES

Primary

This is for all students in Primary school, ranging from Primary 1 – 6. You are called to aply either for the Need based or Merit based grant.

Secondary

This is for all students in Secondary school, ranging from JS 1-3, SS 1-3. You are called to apply either for the Need based or Merit based grant.

Tertiary

This is for all students in the Universities, Polytechnics, Monotechnics and Colleges of Education. You can apply either grants.
