Applications are accepted for a limited window each school year. 50 students are awarded annually, selected by the highest aptitude-test scores among eligible applicants. Selection is ranked by test performance, not by who applies first.

Every grant is either need-based or merit-based. In both categories, eligible applicants are ranked through the same standardised aptitude screening. Choose your education level below to apply.

Our legacy
A promise made in love, kept every school year
The Education Accessory Aide was created in honour of the late Chief Victor Akor, the Udo 1 of Umuojinnaka Ubomiri, and his wife, the late Lolo Lucinda Chidera Akor. They were known across their community for the kindness and generosity they showed to their neighbours.
Each academic year, funds are set aside so that eligible students can meet the cost of their education.

Who can apply for an Akors Foundation grant?
Students currently enrolled in primary school (Primary 1 to 6), secondary school (JS 1 to SS 3) or a tertiary institution (university, polytechnic, monotechnic or college of education) can apply for either a need-based or merit-based grant.
When can I apply?
Applications are accepted from 1 December 2026 to 31 January 2027 for the current cycle. Applications outside this window cannot be considered.
How many grants are awarded?
The foundation awards grants to 50 students each school year. Every eligible applicant sits a standardised aptitude test, and the highest-scoring applicants are selected. Selection is ranked by test performance, not by when you apply. One grant is awarded per student per school year, and the amount is set each year.
How will I know if I have been selected?
Successful applicants are notified by email or text message. If you have a question about your application, please contact the foundation.
How is the grant paid?
Grants are paid by direct deposit into the bank account provided on your application, within 21 days of notification.
